The article presents the results of studies of the drug Tigerase® (inhalation solution manufactured by JSC GENERIUM, Russia), conducted to obtain evidence of its similarity (comparability) to the reference drug Pulmozyme® (inhalation solution, manufactured by Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., Switzerland). Both drugs contain human recombinant deoxyribonuclease I (dornase alfa) as an active substance and are intended for the treatment of cystic fibrosis with pulmonary manifestations (mucoviscidosis).

Here we present the biological properties of the arylbipyridine platinum (II) complex (arylbipy-Pt) and describe the potential mechanism of its antitumor action which differs from that of the well-known cisplatin. Leading to the oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, the arylbipyridine platinum (II) complex showcases the significant cytotoxicity against the glioblastoma cells as shown by the MTT test. Using the 5-ethyl-2-deoxyuridine we study the proliferative activity of glioblastoma cells to affirm that arylbipyridine platinum (II) complex does not impede cell division or DNA replication.

Cosmic radiation, composed of high charge and energy (HZE) particles, causes cellular DNA damage that can result in cell death or mutation that can evolve into cancer. In this work, a cell death model is applied to several cell lines exposed to HZE ions spanning a broad range of linear energy transfer (LET) values. We hypothesize that chromatin movement leads to the clustering of multiple double strand breaks (DSB) within one radiation-induced foci (RIF).

Electrophile-promoted cyclizations of functionalized alkynes offer a useful tool for constructing halogen-substituted heterocycles primed for further derivatization. Preinstallation of an iodo-substituent at the alkyne prior to iodo-cyclization opens access to di-iodinated heterocyclic precursors for the preparation of unsymmetrical heterocycle-fused enediynes. This general approach was used to prepare 2,3-diiodobenzothiophene, 2,3-diiodoindole, and 2,3-diiodobenzofuran, a useful family of substrates for systematic studies of the role of heteroatoms on the regioselectivity of cross-coupling reactions.
