Biomineralization is a green synthesis route for a variety of metal nanoparticles. Silicatein is a biomineralization protein originally found in marine sponge that converts inorganic precursors to metal oxide nanoparticles. In this work, we investigate the popular catalytic triad hypothesis and implement directed evolution with the aim to improve the solubility and kinetics of silicatein to enable increased nanoparticle synthesis.

Objective: This study examined longitudinal associations between neighborhood collective efficacy, maternal parenting stress, and child maltreatment.
Participants And Setting: The study drew data from the Future of Families and Child Wellbeing Study (FFCWS).

Objectives: The growing care demands of an aging population and a smaller workforce is a big societal problem. Therefore, knowledge on how to organize eldercare work without hampering workers` health is needed. We aimed to investigate if workers` daily number of residents cared for over 14 months is associated with low-back pain in eldercare workers.

Concerted [1,2]-rearrangements are formally forbidden, with these processes believed to proceed through homolytic C-N bond fission of the ylide, followed by radical-radical recombination. The challenges associated with developing a catalytic enantioselective [1,2]-rearrangement of allylic ammonium ylides therefore lie in biasing the reaction pathway to favor the [1,2]-reaction product, alongside controlling a stereoselective radical-radical recombination event.

This study examines how depression, emotional support, and childcare support relate to maternal self-efficacy among mothers of infants in rural Pakistan. Participants included 885 mothers assessed at 3 and 6 months postpartum.
