Background: Unlike other medical specialties, surgery is primarily learned through apprenticeship, by observing surgeons in action during operations. However, the increasing number of medical students and work-hour restrictions limit opportunities for learning in the operating room (OR). These circumstances call for novel technologies, such as immersive video.

Introduction: Fibroids are the most common benign uterine tumors. There are different possibilities for surgical approaches, and evaluating the cost of these operations is fundamental in modern surgery. The aim of our study is to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of robotic-assisted myomectomy (RAM) compared to open myomectomy (OM) in France.

The longitudinal and transverse nuclear magnetic resonance relaxivity dispersion (NMRD) of H in water induced by the paramagnetic relaxation enhancement (PRE) of dissolved lanthanide ions (Ln) can become very strong. Longitudinal and transverse H NMRD for Gd, Dy, Er and Ho were measured from 20 MHz/0.47 T to 1382 MHz/32.

AbstractA central challenge in community ecology is understanding and predicting the effects of abiotic factors on community assembly. In particular, microbial communities play a central role in the ecosystem, but we do not understand how changing factors like temperature are going to affect community composition or function. In this article, we studied the self-assembly of multiple communities in synthetic environments to understand changes in microbial community composition based on metabolic responses of different functional groups along a temperature gradient.

Background: Hysterectomy for benign pathologies is one of the most common gynecological surgeries. In recent years, robotic surgery has become an alternative to traditional surgery, but at a higher cost.

Objective: Estimate the cost of benign robot-assisted hysterectomy for the purpose of supporting public decision-making, as well as the additional cost per major postoperative complication (ClavienDindo score ≥ 3) avoided one month after surgery robotic versus traditional laparoscopic.
