Enteritis cystica profunda is a rare and benign disease defined as the invagination of the intestinal epithelium into the submucosa and more profound layers of intestinal wall leading to the formation of mucin-filled cystic spaces. We reported the case of a 45-year-old female, suffering from a Crohn's disease, with a Koenig's syndrome, diarrhea, abdominal pain and weight loss. The colonoscopy and the abdominopelvic scan showed a terminal ileal stenosis, with parietal calcifications.

Inspired by the production of reference data sets in the Genome in a Bottle project, we sequenced one Charolais heifer with different technologies: Illumina paired-end, Oxford Nanopore, Pacific Biosciences (HiFi and CLR), 10X Genomics linked-reads, and Hi-C. In order to generate haplotypic assemblies, we also sequenced both parents with short reads. From these data, we built two haplotyped trio high quality reference genomes and a consensus assembly, using up-to-date software packages.

Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are inflammatory diseases with a flare-up evolution and an unknown etiology. Inflammatory lesions of the upper gastrointestinal tract are more and more often described in Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Spin defects in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) are promising quantum systems for the design of flexible two-dimensional quantum sensing platforms. Here we rely on hBN crystals isotopically enriched with either B or B to investigate the isotope-dependent properties of a spin defect featuring a broadband photoluminescence signal in the near infrared. By analyzing the hyperfine structure of the spin defect while changing the boron isotope, we first confirm that it corresponds to the negatively charged boron-vacancy center ([Formula: see text]).
