Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) is a highly contagious disease affecting sheep and goats, caused by PPR virus (PPRV), a member of the genus Morbillivirus. In 2023 and 2024, on testing of suspected clinical samples for PPR received through passive surveillance of sheep and goat flocks in various states of India resulted in the documentation of 15 laboratory-confirmed outbreaks of PPR. During the outbreak investigation, morbidity and significant mortality rates were observed, and clinical samples collected from the affected flocks were tested using ELISA and RT-PCR, confirming the presence of PPRV.

Marketing of tobacco and vape products is effective at recruiting new users; yet, little is known about children's online exposure to such material. This research aimed to develop a methodology for assessing children's exposure to, and engagement with, online tobacco and vape marketing. This pilot study used data from the innovative Kids Online Aotearoa Study in which 156 11-13-year-olds from schools in the Wellington region of Aotearoa New Zealand used Zoom teleconferencing software to record real-time, screen-shared internet use for four consecutive days.

A minimally invasive analysis of plasma cell-free DNA (cfDNA) offers a genomic profiling of early-stage breast cancer (EBC), potentially identifying mutational signatures linked to metastasis and therapy resistance. In this study, paired plasma and tissue samples from 40 hormone receptor-positive (HR+) EBC patients were sequenced using a custom-designed comprehensive gene panel, OncoIndx. The genomic landscape of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) showed a broader mutation spectrum compared to tumor tissue DNA (tDNA), and provided reliable assessments of microsatellite instability (MSI), tumor mutation burden (TMB), homologous recombination deficiency (HRD), and loss of heterogeneity (LOH), all indicating high genomic instability.

Purpose: Recent studies have reported blunted increases in blood pressure (BP) during static handgrip (SHG) in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), which may be attributed to abnormal sympathetic reactivity during exercise and/or impaired muscle metaboreflex function. However, it is unknown whether the sympathetic neural response to SHG and isolated muscle metaboreflex activation via post-exercise circulatory occlusion (PECO) are attenuated in HFpEF.

Methods: Thirty-nine patients with HFpEF and 24 age-matched non-HFpEF controls were studied in the supine position.

This study aims to provide an overview of how rhinoplasty surgeons manage patients with previous nonsurgical rhinoplasty and facial fillers. A multicenter international cross-sectional study was conducted in accordance with strengthening the reporting of observational studies in epidemiology (STROBE) guidelines. A survey was distributed to members of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery and associated colleagues, with responses analyzed from surgeons performing over 10 rhinoplasties annually.
