Purpose: Poland syndrome is a congenital malformation characterized by agenesis or hypoplasia of pectoralis muscles. There is a limited literature on how the anatomic anomalies of PS may impact the movement of the shoulder. This study analyzes the effects of absence of the pectoralis muscles on the shoulder kinematic.

AO/OTA B and C articular fractures of the distal humerus: What are the boundaries between Total Elbow Arthroplasty and ORIF?

Background: Nowadays, an increasing number of Total Elbow Arthroplasty (TEA) surgeries have been selected as the primary intervention for distal humerus joint fractures. TEA has demonstrated favorable outcomes in elderly osteoporotic patients and has been associated with fewer complications and reduced stiffness when compared to Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) surgeries. This retrospective cohort study aimed to analyze differences in terms of functional outcomes, complications, and reoperation rates of distal fractures of the humerus treated with ORIF and TEA.

Discrimination in the medical setting among LGBTQ+ adults and associations with cancer screening.

Purpose: Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other sexual and gender diverse (LGBTQ+) individuals experience disparities in cancer screening. We examined whether experience of LGBTQ+ -related discrimination in medical settings was associated with cancer screening disparities.

Methods: Participants were recruited via social media for a cross-sectional survey study.

Bioassay-Guided Fractionation of Acetone and Methanol Extracts of Galls with Antimalarial Properties.

The antimalarial properties of crude extracts from galls were investigated through bioassay-guided fractionation. Acetone (QIA) and methanol (QIM) crude extracts have been reported to have promising antimalarial activity against (3D7 strain). These extracts were subjected to fractionation using automated preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (prep-HPLC) to identify the most active fractions.
