Factors influencing outcome satisfaction after cataract surgery: patient-reported insights from the RayPro database.

Background: Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) have become crucial in assessing cataract surgery, especially with increasing patient expectations. The RayPro database offers a platform for tracking PROMs after surgery. The purpose of this study is to investigate determinants of patient satisfaction following cataract surgery by analysing PROMs.

Toxocarosis of the organ of sight - the complex pathological and diagnostic problem.

Selected parasitological and epidemiological aspects of Toxocara spp. invasion were discussed. Pathomechanism of lesions and involvement of the organ of sight in toxocarosis were presented.

A pedicled autologous choroid RPE patch: a technique to preserve perfusion.

The aim of the study is to report a technique of a pedicled autologous choroid retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) patch that aims to preserve perfusion of the transplanted tissue. A case report of a patient with sudden vision deterioration due to submacular hemorrhage in age-related macular degeneration. The surgery involved a 180-degree peripheral retinectomy and the creation of a pedicled graft instead of an isolated one.

Cataract is a leading course of a treatable blindness and serious visual impairment in children. Treatment, especially in one-sided cataract is a challenge and it is connected with the risk of complications. The decision to perform a surgery in older children with already coexisting amblyopia is not easy to make.

[Unusual myopic fundus alteration].

A 44-year-old female patient reported a "black dot" which had been in front of the right eye for more than 4 days and which moved together with eye movements. The optical coherence tomography (OCT) image of the right macula showed large cystic cavities and thickening within the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) near the fovea centralis as well as small bore cystic alterations, which indicated an event in the region of the choroid. Fluorescein angiography and indocyanine green angiography excluded choroidal neovascularization (CNV).
