In voluntary movements, functional role of synchronized neuronal activity in the human motor system is important to detect and diagnose of the some diseases. In some previous studies, EEG signals and responses belong to an exercise are examined and an increased EEG activity reported in alpha frequency band. The reason of this is not clear whether a change is a direct result of the exhaustion or whether it is an adaptation.

Electroencephalography (EEG) is widely used in clinical settings to investigate neuropathology. Since EEG signals contain a wealth of information about brain functions, there are many approaches to analyzing EEG signals with spectral techniques. In this study, the short-time Fourier transform (STFT) and wavelet transform (WT) were applied to EEG signals obtained from a normal child and from a child having an epileptic seizure.
