Article Synopsis
  • The nonrecurrent laryngeal nerve (NRLN) is a rare variation of the recurrent laryngeal nerve with a prevalence of 0.3-0.8% on the right side and only 0.004% on the left.
  • A case study of a young woman with a thyroid mass revealed a NRLN during surgery, as imaging indicated vascular anomalies associated with the lesion.
  • The authors emphasize the importance of identifying NRLN during thyroid surgery to prevent nerve injury, especially when preoperative imaging suggests vascular irregularities.

Article Synopsis
  • The research introduces a new method to create electrochromic materials using a specific Piccard-type system within Zr-MOFs, breaking the reliance on a limited set of building blocks in the field.
  • The newly developed material offers advantages such as fast switching rates, high contrast ratios, long-term stability, and comparable performance to traditional inorganic electrochromic materials.
  • The design of the framework allows for unique control of the oxidation process due to locked conformations of the electrochromic ligand, enabling the development of frameworks with distinct redox properties.

In the present study, green synthetic pathway was adapted to synthesize CuO-ZnO bimetallic nanoparticles (BNPs) using Eryngium foetidum leaf extract and their anti-cancer activity against MCF7 breast cancer cell lines, anti-microbial activity and in vitro anti-oxidant activity were evaluated. Various bio-active compounds present in leaf extract were responsible for the reduction of CuO-ZnO NPs from respective Cu and Zn metal precursors. In the present study, the involvement of bio-active compounds present in E.
