Background: Tooth autotransplantation is a reliable procedure with high long-term success and survival rates, showing many advantages over dental implants, particularly for young patients in craniofacial development. Nonetheless, insufficient bone availability at the recipient site is a key limitation. This study aims to establish the feasibility of tooth autotransplantation combined with staged or simultaneous bone regeneration to address complex cases.

The motivating premise of this study is to improve the treatment of periodontal disease by elucidating sex-specific mechanisms of periodontal disease progression. Men and women experience inflammation in fundamentally different ways and understanding the sex-specific biology leading to inflammation and bone loss in the periodontium will inevitably improve patient outcomes. We therefore examined clinical and immunological differences in the progression of periodontal disease using the ligature-induced periodontitis model.

Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is the most prevalent primary immunodeficiency, marked by hypogammaglobulinemia, poor antibody responses, and increased infection susceptibility. The COVID-19 pandemic provided a unique opportunity to study the effects of prolonged viral infections on the immune responses of CVID patients. Here we use single-cell RNA-seq and spectral flow cytometry of peripheral blood samples before, during, and after SARS-CoV-2 infection showing that COVID-19 CVID patients display a persistent type I interferon signature at convalescence across immune compartments.

Esophageal lichen planus is an underrecognized manifestation of lichen planus. It is typically diagnosed based on characteristic endoscopic findings, such as hyperkeratosis, trachealization, denudation and/or stenosis, along with the presence of a lichenoid infiltrate in histopathological examination. In cases where no other manifestation of lichen planus are found and direct immunofluorescence for fibrinogen along the basement membrane is negative, the term "lichenoid esophagitis" should be preferred.
