Medical mistrust and receptivity to lung cancer screening among African American and white American smokers.

Although medical mistrust is associated with lower cancer screening uptake among racial minorities, such as African Americans, potential impacts on cancer screening among White Americans are generally understudied. In this study, we examined links from medical mistrust to lung cancer screening among African American ( = 203) and White American ( = 201) smokers. Participants completed the Group-Based Medical Mistrust Scale and viewed a brief online educational module about lung cancer risks, etiology, and screening.

Juvenile sialidosis: a rare case and review of the literature.

Background: Sialidosis is a rare variety of lysosomal storage disease that results in intracellular accumulation of sialic acid containing compounds. The authors report the first case of type II sialidosis, juvenile subtype in a 30-month-old male child from Nepal.

Case Presentation: Progressive hearing loss with coarse facies, hepatomegaly, kyphoscoliosis, dysostosis multiplex were the major features in a 30-month-old child born to healthy non-consanguineous parents.

Clinical and psychological impact of lip repositioning surgery in the management of excessive gingival display.

Background: Excessive gingival display (EGD), also known as a gummy smile, is characterized by overexposure of the maxillary gingiva on smiling. EGD can cause embarrassment and reduce patient satisfaction. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical and psychological effects of lip repositioning surgery on the management of EGD.

Sagittal Root Position of Maxillary Anterior Teeth in Nepalese Population Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography.

Background There are no radiographic studies in Nepalese population for determination of sagittal root positioning in maxillary anterior teeth. The sagittal root positioning and root angulation plays a vital role for case selection in immediate implant placement. Objective To evaluate, classify and compare sagittal root position between different maxillary anterior teeth.
