It remains controversial, whether vitamin D reduces urinary albumin excretion in patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN). This metaanalysis was designed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of vitamin D, on urinary albumin excretion, in DN patients. Electronic databases, including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane library were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs), regarding the effect of vitamin D on urinary albumin excretion in DN patients.

We demonstrate a method to trap and maneuver nanoparticles in an optical standing wave potential formed by retroreflecting a laser beam from a metallic mirror surface. We can reliably position a ∼170 diameter silica nanoparticle at distances of a few hundred nanometers to tens of micrometers from the surface of a gold-coated silicon mirror by transferring it from a single-beam tweezer trap into the standing wave potential.

Those who violated parole or probation scored significantly differently from those who remained on parole or probation or had been released. The questionnaire score could be helpful to identify which felons require additional supervision or treatment.

Pearson product-moment correlations indicated that those functioning well (low scores on the Environmental Deprivation Scale-Questionnaire) tended to have high scores on the future subscale of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (r = -.45, p < .

Scores on each scale, different in method and design, have been correlated with anti-social behavior. The scores on both measures were compared and a significant correlation of .
