The position of the venous end of the subclavian catheter was determined in 100 children by recording the intracavitary potentials. The measuring of the intracavitary wave P was used as a diagnostic criterion. In 30 cases these findings were supported by a radiopaque study, in 12 cases by a postmortem examination.
