This article describes the history of the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia, including its conception, initial publication, remarkable growth, and international standing. The Journal is the oldest subspecialty journal in anesthesiology and has served as a model for the many other anesthesia subspecialty journals that have followed in its footsteps since it was first published in 1987. Patient Priorities Care (PPC) is an Age-Friendly approach that explores 'what matters' by identifying values, care preferences, and health priorities, and aligning healthcare based on patients' health outcome goals.
Methods: Patient priorities care was implemented in four clinical settings (Hospital in Home, a transitional care case management program and in two embedded clinics within specialty care settings) within a large academically affiliated Veteran Affairs hospital system.
Objective: This study sought to determine differences in program reported entrustable professional activity (EPA) entrustment-supervision levels based on residency program size.
Methods: At the end of the 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 academic years, entrustment-supervision levels for the 17 General Pediatrics EPAs were determined by clinical competency committees for graduating pediatric residents at 48 pediatrics residency programs. Programs were categorized as small, medium, large, and very large.
Objective: To evaluate the impact of assisted hatching on implantation and pregnancy rates among fresh embryo transfers using vitrified donor oocytes.
Design: Retrospective cohort study.
Setting: Twenty-nine IVF centers involved in the Donor Egg Bank United States of America database between 2015 to 2020.
Background: To understand the relative safety and efficacy of endovascular treatment modalities used for superficial femoral artery (SFA) disease, we performed a network meta-analysis to compare outcomes between percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA), atherectomy (A), bare metal stent (BMS), brachytherapy/radiotherapy, covered stent graft (CSG), cutting balloon angioplasty (CBA), drug-coated balloon (DCB), drug-eluting stent (DES), and intravascular lithotripsy (L).
Methods: We performed a systematic literature search of PubMed from January 2000 to January 2023 to identify randomized trials comparing endovascular interventions for the treatment of SFA disease. The primary end points were technical success and 12-month primary patency.
