There is a rapidly growing body of research in the field of evolutionary educational psychology that examines children's evolved motivational and educational inclinations as they relate to modern learning and schooling. It is generally agreed that schools are inherently mismatched with how children of our species evolved to learn, thereby contributing to difficulty learning and associated adverse schooling outcomes. Many researchers argue that, by making small changes to schools that help to better align instructional methods and childhood as a whole with our species' evolved learning mechanisms, we can lessen the negative impacts from evolutionary mismatch and create better outcomes for modern students.

Purpose Of Review: A life-limiting fetal diagnosis (LLD) refers to a medical condition identified during pregnancy that is expected to lead to stillbirth, preclude ex utero survival, or significantly reduce neonatal life expectancy. The terms 'lethal' or 'life-limiting' are used to prognosticate early death for various anatomic or physiologic causes, although the expected timeframe is nonspecific. Since this region is already undergoing climatic changes, the additional stress of microplastic pollution on the ecosystem should not be considered in isolation. We identify potential hotspot areas of ecological impact from a spatial overlap analysis of multiple data sets to understand where marine biota are likely to interact with local microplastic emissions (from ship traffic and human populations associated with scientific research and tourism).
