Background: Apolipoprotein (Apo) E4, a main susceptibility gene for Alzheimer's disease (AD) is associated with increased vascular dysfunction, amyloid pathology, and neurodegeneration. The effector pathways leading to increased vascular risk in ApoE4 carriers needs to be established. Platelet aggregation is a key marker of vascular dysfunction and studies need to examine whether a relationship of ApoE4 allele status and platelet biology exists METHOD: We examined cross-sectional associations of platelet aggregation with ApoE genotypes (E2 or E4 against E3, the most common) in middle-aged cognitively normal participants at the Framingham Heart Study (FHS) Gen3, New Offspring Spouse (NOS), and Omni2 Cohorts.

Goal: A lack of healthcare worker well-being is a serious threat to patient care quality and safety, as well as to the overall operational performance of hospitals in the US healthcare delivery system. Extreme resilience depletion and compassion fatigue are known to negatively influence individual well-being and have contributed to the rise in turnover in the healthcare workforce. The primary aim of this research was to identify interventions that health system leaders can use to combat resilience depletion and exhaustion among healthcare workers.

Unlabelled: Flavivirus envelope (E) and precursor M (prM) proteins, when ectopically expressed, assemble into empty, virus-like particles (VLPs). Cleavage of prM to M and loss of the pr fragment converts the VLPs from immature to mature particles, mimicking a similar maturation of authentic virions. Most of the VLPs obtained by prM-E expression are smaller than virions; early, low-resolution cryo-EM studies suggested a simple, 60-subunit, icosahedral organization.

Introduction: Despite recommendations from the WHO, antenatal care (ANC) coverage remains low in many low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). Community health workers (CHWs) can play an important role in expanding ANC coverage through pregnancy identification, provision of health education, screening for complications, delivery of therapeutic care and referral to higher levels of care. However, despite the success of CHW programmes in various countries, WHO has called for additional research to develop evidence-based models that optimise CHW service delivery and that can be replicated across geographies.
