The Functioning of Ethics Committees in Kazakhstan: Results and Recommendations.

Background: Sixteen RECs were randomly selected from various institutions across Kazakhstan, representing both public and private sectors and covering biomedical and socio-behavioral research reviews.

Objective: This research addresses a critical knowledge gap by providing empirical data on REC operations in Kazakhstan, facilitating a better understanding of how these committees align with international ethical standards and best practices. Furthermore, by situating our findings within the broader context of REC performance in LMICs, we aim to highlight specific challenges unique to Kazakhstan and propose evidence-based recommendations.

Background: Cancer screening is a crucial component in the fight to reduce cancer incidence and mortality. Currently, the WHO recommends highly effective cancer screening programs, including screening for cervical cancer (CC), breast cancer (BC), and colorectal cancer (CRC). Despite the implementation of a cancer screening program since 2014, an evaluation of the effectiveness of BC, CC, and CRC screening in the Kazakhstan has not yet been conducted.

Optimization of Radiology Diagnostic Services for Patients with Stroke in Multidisciplinary Hospitals.

Background: Effective radiology diagnostic services are crucial for the timely and precise diagnosis and treatment of stroke, a medical emergency, in multidisciplinary hospitals. However, the efficiency of these services might be impeded by various logistical and operational challenges present in a multidisciplinary hospital setup.

Objective: This review endeavours to explore the ways for optimizing stroke management in multi-disciplinary hospitals, delving into its benefits, current challenges, and future prospects.

Advancements in Carbazole-Based Sensitizers and Hole-Transport Materials for Enhanced Photovoltaic Performance.

Carbazole-based molecules play a significant role in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) due to their advantageous properties. Carbazole derivatives are known for their thermal stability, high hole-transport capability, electron-rich (p-type) characteristics, elevated photoconductivity, excellent chemical stability, and commercial availability. This review focuses on DSSCs, including their structures, working principles, device characterization, and the photovoltaic performance of carbazole-based derivatives.

PREVALENCE AND FACTORS OF PROFESSIONAL BURNOUT AMONG PRIMARY HEALTHCARE WORKERS IN THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN: RESULTS OF A NATIONAL STUDY.

Unlabelled: Professional burnout is a significant issue in healthcare, particularly among primary healthcare (PHC) workers. This study aims to assess the prevalence and contributing factors to professional burnout among PHC workers in Kazakhstan, a country undergoing healthcare reforms and the implementation of new medical care standards.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted from 2021 to 2023 across 324 medical organizations in Kazakhstan, including 232 organizations in 2021, 76 in 2022, and 16 in 2023.
