Basement membranes form part of the extracellular matrix (ECM), which is the structural basis for all tissue. Basement membranes are cell-adherent sheets found between cells and vascular endothelia, including those of the central nervous system (CNS). There is exceptional regional specialisation of these structures, both in tissue organisation and regulation of tissue-specific cellular processes.

Acute pericarditis is a rare manifestation of FMF and typically presents with other symptoms of the inflammatory disorder. A 27-year-old Arabian male presented to our hospital with pleuritic chest pain and shortness of breath while lying flat.

Here, we show that low levels of IL-4 in the early postnatal stage delineate a critical period in which microglia extensively prune cerebellar neurons. Elevating the levels of this cytokine via peripheral injection, or using a mouse model of allergic asthma, leads to defective pruning, permanent increase in cerebellar granule cells, and circuit alterations.

This study aimed to describe the profile of fatigue-related, exercise-related, mood-related and cognitive-related outcomes in a COVID-19-exposed group compared with controls.
Methods: 113 serving UK Armed Forces participants were followed up at 5, 12 (n=88) and 18 months (n=70) following COVID-19.
The aim of this scoping review was to evaluate research approaches that quantify changes to non-linear movement dynamics during running in response to fatigue, different speeds, and fitness levels. PubMed and Scopus were used to identify appropriate research articles. After the selection of eligible studies, study details and participant characteristics were extracted and tabulated to identify methodologies and findings.
