A dynamic study of ceramide concentrations and their association with recurrent event risk could enhance our understanding of cardiovascular complications. To assess the prognostic value of ceramide concentrations (Cer(d18:1/16:0), Cer(d18:1/18:0), Cer(d18:1/24:1), Cer(d18:1/24:0)) and their dynamics in combination with standard clinical and laboratory parameters and therapeutic interventions in ACS patients. Among 110 ACS patients, triple blood sampling was performed for targeted lipidomic analysis using high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.

Increased platelet activity is a risk factor of thrombotic events in cardiovascular patients. We studied the relationship between platelet function, platelet size, and the content of reticulated platelets (RP) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD, n = 55) and acute coronary syndrome (ACS, n = 95) receiving acetylsalicylic acid + clopidogrel or ticagrelor, respectively. The control group consisted of patients with risk factors for CHD, but with no CHD/ACS and free of antiplatelet drugs (n = 66).

Immunodetection of cardiac isoforms of troponin I (cTnI) and troponin T (cTnT) in blood samples is widely used for the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction. The cardiac troponin complex (ITC-complex), comprising cTnI, cTnT, and troponin C (TnC), makes up a large portion of troponins released into the bloodstream after the necrosis of cardiomyocytes. However, the stability of the ITC-complex has not been fully investigated.
