Secular trends in twinning rates.

Based on national data from civil birth registration systems, this paper provides an overview of trends in the twinning birth rates in fifteen developed countries. Patterns and differentials in such rates across populations are described, and trends over time are given. The evolution of the twinning rate in industrialized countries over the last century follows broadly the same pattern.

Frequency of twin births in developed countries.

Twinning rates in developed countries have recently registered an increase. At the end of the 1970s, the change in mother's age structure has partially contributed to the growth in the proportion of multiple births. In fact, the evolution of twinning rates is related to the calendar of maternity since, comparatively to younger mothers, older women more frequently have twins.

[Black's class II: a critical analysis of 278 fillings].

The aim of this study was to make a critical and statistical assessment of Black's class 2 fillings. The study was based on a critical examination which evaluated the material used for the fillings, morphology, periodontal conditions and oral hygiene.

[Misoprostol in oral surgery. 112 clinical evaluations].

The efficacy of misoprostol in protecting gastric mucosa during postoperative NSAID therapy was assessed in a sample group of 112 patients of both sexes suffering from gastric pathologies for which they had undergone oral surgery. The analysis of the results confirms the therapeutic efficacy of misoprostol which enabled these patients to conclude the recommended treatment.
