The role of irinotecan-bevacizumab as rescue regimen in children with low-grade gliomas: a retrospective nationwide study in 72 patients.

Introduction: At least half of children with low-grade glioma (LGG) treated with first line chemotherapy experience a relapse/progression and may therefore need a second-line chemotherapy. Irinotecan-bevacizumab has been recommended in this setting in France after encouraging results of pilot studies. We performed a retrospective analysis to define the efficacy, toxicity and predictors for response to the combination on a larger cohort.

Adenovirus infection and disease in paediatric haematopoietic stem cell transplant patients: clues for antiviral pre-emptive treatment.

Human adenovirus (HAdV) infections constitute a major cause of morbidity in paediatric haematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) patients. New antiviral treatments offer promising perspectives. However, it remains challenging to identify patients at risk for disseminated infection, and who should receive early antiviral intervention.

[Infant rhabdoid tumors: a diagnostic emergency].

Rhabdoid tumors are a heterogeneous family of aggressive tumors affecting young children. Their grouping within a single entity is recent, following the discovery of a bi-allelic inactivation of the hSNF5/INI1 tumor suppressor gene in tumoral cells. This bi-allelic inactivation of the hSNF5/INI1 gene found at the constitutional level in up to one-third of cases has led to the identification of a predisposal syndrome to rhabdoid tumors.
