In recent years, nanozyme-based analytics have become popular. Among these, laccase nanozyme-based colorimetric sensors have emerged as simple and rapid colorimetric detection methods for various analytes, effectively addressing natural enzymes' stability and high-cost limitations. Laccase nanozymes are nanomaterials that exhibit inherent laccase enzyme-like activity.

We modified a synthesis that employs seed particles with twinning faults on which silver is deposited laterally along the twinning fault, leading to flat particles. The ratio of lateral and vertical growth is adjusted by the co-titration of further noble metal salts at nanomolar concentrations alongside the silver precursor.

Colloidal synthesis provides great flexibility in product material, size, and shape. Gold nanoparticle synthesis has been thoroughly studied, however, recent reports on mechanistic insights of crystal formation have been hindered by the numerous procedures and parameter optimization works.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFMOFs are known for their absorption properties and widely used for accumulation, filtering, sensorics, photothermal, catalytical and other applications. Their combination with plasmonic metal nanoparticles leads to hybrid structures that profit from the stabilizing effect and high porosity of the MOF as well as the optical and electronic properties of the nanoparticles. The growth of MOFs on plasmonic nanoparticles can be monitored in-situ using LSPR spectroscopy, simultaneously applying microfluidic reaction conditions for the fabrication of NP@MOF structures.
