Objective: To compare lipoprotein profile, body composition and diet in a sample of athletes practicing mixed and anaerobic sports activities, and in a group of sedentary controls.
Experimental Design: Cross selectional study.
Participants: Twenty professional soccer players (mixed trained), twenty body builders (anaerobic trained) and twenty sedentary subjects, all males and matched for age were studied.
The clinical efficacy and tolerability of topical 5% meclofenamic acid gel versus placebo and oral sodium meclofenamate versus sodium naproxen were evaluated in patients affected with minor traumatologies. Ninety patients were studied: 60 were treated with either meclofenamic acid gel or placebo for 10 days, and 30 were administered with either sodium meclofenamate capsules or sodium naproxen capsules for 7 days. The 5% meclofenamic acid gel and its sodium salt in capsules proved significantly more rapid and efficient than did the reference compounds in reducing pain symptomatology.

In the course of a 3-week treatment, the following parameters were evaluated: a) concerning the symptoms, intensity of spontaneous pain and of pain induced by both passive mobilization of the joint and walking; b) concerning the analgesic treatment, reduction of FANS consumption (expressed as percentage of basal dose) and of intensity of side effects. In the FANS + heparin-glucoronilglucosaminoglycane-treated group, the following were found with respect to the control group: a) higher reduction of pain intensity, statistically significant as far as pain on walking is concerned and higher increase in passive mobility of the joint; b) notable reduction of FANS consumption and intensity of side effects.

The efficacy of the drug was assessed by studying pain at rest, during movement, and during pressure, as well as muscular tension and functional recovery. Twenty-eight patients completed the study.

In the experimental part of the study, cutaneous pain threshold and subcutaneous tissue ticking were measured after the induction of an algogenic focus in deep somatic side. In the clinical part of the study, pain intensity (by A.
