Background/aim: Ovarian cancer remains a major cause of death in women worldwide, mainly due to late diagnosis and the lack of a reliable screening test for early detection of the disease. Results: Among the surgical methods used, hypogastric artery ligation is the oldest therapeutic approach in cervical bleedings of neoplastic origin.
