A note on stove and adding machine arrangement preferences as a function of sex and handedness.

Some stove and adding machine arrangements chosen by our subjects were influenced by both their sex and handedness.

Another test of sensor lines on control panels.

In this experiment all panels had four circular displays arranged in a square on a vertical surface and four controls aligned vertically to the right of the displays. Two panels had linkages between controls and displays which earlier research had shown to be compatible, the other two had incompatible linkages. Each of these four panels was tested with and without sensor lines showing the linkages between controls and displays.

Short-term memory for numbers.

Each of 52 (25 female and 27 male) high school students reproduced from memory 1000 eight-digit numbers after viewing each number for 5 s. Subjects were given unlimited time to reproduce the numbers and were allowed to change their reproductions. The range of errors was very large: from 71 to 2231 out of 8000 digits reproduced by each subject.
