Large earthquakes (EQs) occur at surprising loci and timing, and their descriptions remain a long-standing enigma. Finding answers by traditional approaches or recently emerging machine learning (ML)-driven approaches is formidably difficult due to data scarcity, interwoven multiple physics, and absent first principles. This paper develops a novel artificial intelligence (AI) framework that can transform raw observational EQ data into ML-friendly new features via basic physics and mathematics and that can self-evolve in a direction to better reproduce short-term large EQs.

The patient had undergone splenectomy 2 years ago for splenic injury following a road traffic accident. Computerized tomography showed multiple well-defined, homogeneously enhancing soft tissue density nodules of varying sizes distributed throughout the abdomen and pelvis.

Although they make up 16% of mesenchymal tumours, the occurrence of breast lipomas is uncertain. Giant lipomas, measuring 10 cm or more in diameter or weighing at least 1000 g, commonly occur in the upper back, neck, and thigh, and are rare in the breast.

The scientific community has been looking for novel approaches to develop nanostructures inspired by nature. However, due to the complicated processes involved, controlling the height of these nanostructures is challenging. Nanoscale capillary force lithography (CFL) is one way to use a photopolymer and alter its properties by exposing it to ultraviolet radiation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA new category of immune-related adverse effects has been identified due to increasing use of immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy to treat solid organ cancers. Pembrolizumab approved for renal cell carcinoma also has neurological immune-related adverse effects causing long-term morbidity. We here present a case of renal cell carcinoma post nephrectomy with suspected pembrolizumab (anti-PD-1)-induced encephalitis presenting as light headedness and dizziness treated with high dose of corticosteroid and intravenous immunoglobulin.
