Renal oncocytoma (RO) represents about 7% of kidney tumors. They usually behave in a benign fashion, with a slow-growth rate. Patients are often asymptomatic and the tumour is found incidentally on imaging.

We describe how we manage laparoscopically one case of a patient with congenital MUV. We describe a 6-month-old boy born with antenatal left HN, with an anteroposterior diameter (APD) of 1,5 cm.

Phosphate binders and dietary phosphate limitation are not effective enough to abolish hyperphosphoremia-induced cardiovascular abnormalities, therefore, the identification of other and more timely approaches for serum phosphorous reduction is necessary. Salivary fluid contains phosphate which, if related to the daily salivary secretion (1,000 - 1,800 ml), deserves attention as a marker for an earlier start of pharmacologic treatment for phosphorous removal.

Currently available pharmacologic treatment for hyperphosphatemia is based on phosphate binders but, despite treatment, only half of the patients fall within the range for serum phosphorus of the K/DOQI guidelines. Therefore, there is a need to identify other therapeutic approaches in order to reduce serum phosphate.
