Background: Several studies reported a reduced rate of accesses to pediatric emergency department (ED) for seizures during COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of our study is to evaluate the attendance to pediatric ED for seizures, as well as the influence of seizure type and personal history of seizures on the rate of admissions during the pandemic period.
Methods: The number and clinical features of patients admitted to the pediatric ED because of seizures were collected at a single hospital in Milan, Italy, between January 2017 and December 2021.
Glioblastoma (GBM) is one of the most common types of brain tumor in adults. Despite the availability of treatments for this disease, GBM remains one of the most lethal and difficult types of tumors to treat, and thus, a majority of patients die within 2 years of diagnosis. Infection with Zika virus (ZIKV) inhibits cell proliferation and induces apoptosis, particularly in developing neuronal cells, and thus could potentially be considered an alternative for GBM treatment.

Detailed knowledge of bee distribution is crucial for understanding bee biology and designing tailored conservation strategies, but is still insufficient in southern European countries, especially in Italy.
New Information: We report recent finds of 48 bee species that yield significant novelties for the Italian bee fauna.
Purinergic signaling has been implicated in many biological functions, including development. In this study, we investigate the functions of extracellular adenosine and adenosine receptors using a mouse embryonic stem cell (ESC) line and morula stages isolated from mouse embryos. Feeder-free mouse ESC was investigated in the absence and presence of the leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), configuring undifferentiated cells and cells undergoing spontaneous differentiation.
