Background: Oral function tests have been shown to reliably detect impaired bulbar function in adults with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Although not routinely recorded, it is known that persons with SMA are affected to varying degrees. Detecting differences in bite and tongue force, endurance, and maximum mouth opening has become particularly promising since the introduction of causal therapy for SMA.

We construct a cocycle that, for a given -manifold, maps a pair of asymptotically locally hyperbolic (ALH) metrics to a tractor-valued -form field on the conformal infinity. This requires the metrics to be asymptotically related to a given order that depends on the dimension. It then provides a local geometric quantity on the boundary that is naturally associated to the pair and can be interpreted as a relative energy-momentum density.

Article Synopsis
  • The use of whole blood for medical emergencies before patients reach the hospital is on the rise.
  • Existing methods for delivering blood, like intraosseous and peripheral venous catheters, can slow down the flow of these critical fluids during resuscitation.
  • Central venous catheters offer a more effective option in prehospital settings, allowing for faster and larger volumes of blood infusion that can save lives.
