The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated prevalence of alcohol use and violence, including gender-based violence (GBV); however, little is understood about the pandemic's impact on the relationship between the two. Data were collected from January 2021-April 2023 with adults who drink alcohol (N = 565) in the San Francisco Bay Area. Questions assessed prevalence of heavy alcohol use (≥4 drinks on one occasion ≥4 times a month) in the past 3 months and violence/GBV exposure before and during the pandemic.

The model is currently being evaluated for its effectiveness in a multi-state trial. Preliminary implementation data, collected through process measures surveys and implementation interviews, indicate that there are several barriers to implementation among partner organizations and implementation fidelity to the Veggie Van model was low.

Alumina nanopowders belonging to the γ and δ transition phases have been characterized by infrared and Raman spectroscopies. A quantitative interpretation of their vibrational spectra has been provided and related to their crystal structure, with particular emphasis on structural disorder and features not predicted by group-theoretical considerations. Both phases show very similar infrared dielectric functions, but with clear instances of mode-splitting in the δ phase, which are related to ordering in the tetrahedral Al positions.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate a new fine-tuned method for extraction and enrichment of genomic MPXV DNA using clinical samples and to compare it to a non-enrichment metagenomic approach.
Results: A new procedure that allows sample enrichment in MPXV DNA, avoiding wasting the sequencing capacity in human DNA, was designed.
