Leather manufacturing is the process of converting raw animal hides or skins into finished leather. The complex industrial procedures result in a tanning effluent composed of chemical compounds with potentially hazardous impacts on humans and ecosystems. Among the traditional and efficient wastewater treatments, adsorption is an effective and well-known approach, able to manage a wide range of contaminants from wastewater.

Background: Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) represent a deep revolution of the therapeutic approach to heart failure (HF), preventing its insurgence but also improving the management of the disease and slowing its natural progression. To date, few studies have explored the effectiveness of SGLT2i and, in particular, Dapagliflozin in a real-world population. Therefore, in this observational prospective study, we evaluated Dapagliflozin's effectiveness in a real-world HF population categorized in the different hemodynamic profiles.

In the last century, the issue of "water reserves" has become a remarkably strategic topic in modern science and technology. In this context, water resource treatment and management systems are being developed in both agricultural and urban area scenarios. This can be achieved using superabsorbent polymers (SAPs), highly cross-linked hydrogels with three-dimensional, hydrophilic polymer structures capable of absorbing, swelling and retaining huge amounts of aqueous solutions.

Objective: Binge-eating spectrum disorders (BESD) involve large eating episodes accompanied by a sense of loss of control that occur in individuals with body weights spanning the full body mass index (BMI) spectrum. While research links BESD with peripheral inflammation, this literature is limited by underpowered studies and a failure to control for confounding variables that could promote inflammation independent of dysregulated eating, specifically elevated body adiposity and depression. Our study examined plasma interleukin-6 (IL-6), a marker of peripheral inflammation, in a sample of women with BESD and non-eating disorder controls, controlling for BMI, body adiposity, and depression.
