Introduction: Many minimally invasive techniques have been developed over the years to treat primary ventral hernias and rectus abdominis diastasis, all of which have their advantages and disadvantages in terms of complications, reproducibility, and cost. We present a case-series of a novel approach that was safe and reproducible in a cohort of 17 patients.
Patients And Methods: All patients in the study underwent the novel procedure between October 2022 and July 2023.
Foreign body ingestion is not an uncommon problem in clinical practice. While most ingested foreign bodies pass uneventfully through the gastrointestinal tract, sharp foreign bodies such as toothpicks should cause intestinal perforation. We reported the case of a perforation of the appendix caused by a toothpick, which also pierced the liver without hepatic damages, in a male with an intestinal malrotation and subhepatic appendix.

Nevertheless, significant data on medium- and long-term follow-up are still not available, since data in literature are scarce and the level of evidence is low.
Methods: In this retrospective study, we describe and compare short and medium term results of spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy in eight patients.
Background: Pancreatic fistula is still one of the most serious and potential complications after D2-D3 distal and total gastrectomy (4% to 6%). Despite their importance, pancreatic fistulas still have not been uniformly defined. Amylase concentration of the drainage fluid after surgery for gastric cancer can be considered as a predictive factor of the presence of pancreatic fistula.

Although the Whipple triad, consisting of hypoglycemia, neuroglycopenic symptoms, and symptoms relief with glucose administration, is often present, the diagnosis may be challenging when symptoms are less typical. We report a case of road accident due to an episode of loss of consciousness in a patient with pancreatic insulinoma.
