The interplay between organizational culture and burnout among ICU professionals: A cross-sectional multicenter study.

Purpose: Organizational culture is considered a protective factor against burnout among ICU professionals. The aim of this study is to study the association between organizational culture as a potential antecedent to previously found mediating risk factors for burnout, namely, work-life balance and moral distress.

Materials And Methods: Multicenter cross sectional study in eleven Dutch ICUs.

Improving organisation to improve care: ERN ReCONNET organisational reference model for systemic sclerosis patients' care pathway.

Objective: To optimise the organisation of care and encourage the adoption of good clinical practices, the RarERN Path methodology was designed within ERN ReCONNET. The aim of our work was to report the application of RarERN Path on systemic sclerosis within the ERN ReCONNET centres, providing a feasible and flexible organisational reference model for optimising the systemic sclerosis care pathway in different countries.

Methods: RarERN Path is a six-phase methodology which enables the creation of a reference organisational model co-designed on the basis of the expertise of different stakeholders.

Chemically-Driven Autonomous Janus Electromagnets as Magnetotactic Swimmers.

An electromagnet is a particular device that takes advantage of electrical currents to produce concentrated magnetic fields. The most well-known example is a conventional solenoid, having the form of an elongated coil and creating a strong magnetic field through its center when it is connected to a current source. Background: Respiratory effort should be closely monitored in mechanically ventilated ICU patients to avoid both overassistance and underassistance. Surface electromyography of the diaphragm (sEMGdi) offers a continuous and non-invasive modality to assess respiratory effort based on neuromuscular coupling (NMCdi). The sEMGdi derived electrical activity of the diaphragm (sEAdi) is prone to distortion by crosstalk from other muscles including the heart, hindering its widespread use in clinical practice.

Charting a new course in healthcare: early-stage AI algorithm registration to enhance trust and transparency.

AI holds the potential to transform healthcare, promising improvements in patient care. Yet, realizing this potential is hampered by over-reliance on limited datasets and a lack of transparency in validation processes. To overcome these obstacles, we advocate the creation of a detailed registry for AI algorithms.
