Introduction: Resistance training (RT) is known to induce both peripheral and central adaptations, resulting in enhanced strength, sports performance, and health benefits. These adaptations are specific to the training stimuli. The acute cortical mechanisms of single sessions resistance exercise (RE) are not yet understood.

Colonies of the N-fixing cyanobacterium spp. constitute a consortium with multiple microorganisms that collectively exert ecosystem-level influence on marine carbon and nitrogen cycling, shunting newly fixed nitrogen to low nitrogen systems, and exporting both carbon and nitrogen to the deep sea. Here we identify a seasonally recurrent association between puff colonies and amoebae through a two-year survey involving over 10 000 colonies in the Red Sea.

We present the design and comprehensive investigation of stable para-substituted triarylamine-2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ) radical ion pairs (RIPs) generated via single-electron transfer (SET). We quantified the degree of SET in both solution and solid phases, utilising a suite of spectroscopic techniques including IR, EPR, NMR, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SC-XRD). Our findings reveal that the extent of SET is significantly influenced by the nature of the substituents (MeO > Bu > Br) and the polarity of the solvent (MeCN > DCM > toluene).

Background And Aims: The small intestine plays a central role in lipid metabolism, most notably the uptake of dietary fats that are packaged into chylomicrons and secreted into the circulation for utilisation by peripheral tissues. While microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP) is known to play a key role in this pathway, the intracellular assembly, trafficking, and secretion of chylomicrons is incompletely understood.

Methods And Results: Using human transcriptome datasets to find genes co-regulated with MTTP, we identified ERICH4 as a top hit.

Article Synopsis
  • - Mineralocorticoid (MR) and glucocorticoid receptors (GR) are key transcription factors involved in various processes like stress response, hormonal signalling, mood, cognition, and memory, despite their structural differences, especially in the N-terminal domain.
  • - A study using a Proximity Ligation Assay (PLA) on murine neuroblastoma (N2A) cells showed that continuous stimulation with corticosterone (CORT) results in MR-GR complexes accumulating at the cell nucleus's periphery, particularly when the receptor's ligand binding domain is truncated.
  • - Interestingly, while MR-GR complex localization changed with receptor activation, there wasn't a straightforward link between where these complexes were located in the nucleus and
