: Data are lacking on the optimal neoadjuvant systemic treatment (NST) for women with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive (HER2+) breast cancer if they are unfit to receive the combination of chemotherapy and anti-HER2 therapy. The aim of this study was to determine whether the rates of ypT0 and ypN0 differ between patients treated with neoadjuvant endocrine therapy (NET) versus NET combined with anti-HER2 therapy (NET+aHER2). : Data from the Netherlands Cancer Registry were analysed to identify women diagnosed with primary HR+/HER2+ breast cancer between 2008 and 2019, treated with either NET or NET+aHER2.

Interhospital variations in diagnostic work-up following recall at biennial screening mammography-a population-based study.

Objectives: Quality control in breast cancer screening programmes has been subject of several studies. However, less is known about the clinical diagnostic work-up in recalled women with a suspicious finding at screening mammography. The current study focuses on interhospital differences in diagnostic work-up strategies.

Radiofrequency Ablation for Solitary Autonomously Functioning Thyroid Nodules: Multicenter Study from Latin America.

Autonomously functioning thyroid nodules (AFTNs) represent ∼5% of all thyroid nodules and often necessitate definitive treatments such as surgery or radioiodine (I), both of which have inherent risks. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has emerged as an effective and safe therapeutic option for managing AFTNs. This study aims to assess the effectiveness and safety of RFA for solitary AFTNs in various countries across Latin America.

Surgical treatment after neoadjuvant systemic therapy for HER2-positive invasive breast cancer in the Netherlands: 10-Year trends and the influence an accompanying DCIS component.

Background: The presence of a DCIS component accompanying invasive breast cancer (IBC) is associated with a higher rate of primary mastectomy compared to IBC without DCIS. After neoadjuvant systemic therapy (NST), HER2+ IBC patients show high response rates, allowing for increasing breast-conserving surgery rates. The aim of this study was to examine surgical trends after NST in a Dutch nationwide HER2+ cohort, and the influence of a DCIS component on mastectomy rate.

[Early diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis in patients presenting with pain of hand joints].

Diagnosing rheumatoid arthritis early in patients presenting with pain of hand joints facilitates a fast initiation of effective treatment and, in general, with better results than late initiation of treatment. The diagnosis is based on specific pattern recognition and makes distinguishing with osteoarthritis without laboratory testing or imagine studies possible. These 3 cases of patients presenting with joint pain of the hands show this clinical diagnostic process in detail.
