Low engagement with HIV services persists among young men with harmful alcohol use in South Africa. We previously piloted a rural community-based HIV service delivery model to engage this key population. In the initial study, male nurses visited alcohol-serving venues to provide HIV testing and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) services.

Correction for 'Fluorinated aromatic PCBTF and 6:2 diPAP in bridge and traffic paints' by Mitchell L. Kim-Fu , , 2024, https://doi.org/10.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPer- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been detected in plant fiber-based food packaging and most such packaging is disposed in landfills. The objective of this research was to evaluate the release of volatile PFAS to the gas-phase from PFAS-containing, single-use food packaging materials and from municipal solid waste (MSW) during anaerobic decomposition under simulated landfill conditions. After screening 46 materials for total and 6:2 fluorotelomer alcohol (FTOH), packaging materials were classified as high or low .

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are reported in residential and commercial paints, but there are no data for paints used in the transportation sector. From 2023 to 2024, 16 traffic paints and 10 bridge paints were collected from Pacific Northwest regional transportation facilities or purchased and analyzed for total fluorine by F-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, volatile PFAS by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and ionic target and suspect PFAS by liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The only target PFAS identified was 6:2 fluorotelomer phosphate diester (diPAP) which ranged in concentrations from 0.
