Background: CRP-based scoring systems were found to correlate with survival in patients with urooncologic diseases. Our retrospective single-centre study aimed to confirm CRP as a prognostic parameter in patients with bladder cancer (BCa) undergoing radical cystectomy (RC) and, based on the findings, to develop our own outcome score for muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) patients undergoing RC in order to identify patients with a high risk of mortality.
Material And Methods: A total of 254 patients who underwent RC at Hanover Medical School between 1996 and 2007 were reviewed with a follow-up until autumn 2013.
Objective: To explore repeat surgery as a primary outcome measure in long-term follow-up after ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy (URS) with attempted complete extraction of fragments.
Methods: Retrospective review of the medical records of consecutive patients undergoing URS performed by a single surgeon. Repeat surgery was defined as any return to the operating room for management of stone or complications.

Introduction: The desmoid fibromatosis is a very rare connective tissue disease which is recognized as semimalignant. The aim of this work is to review the relevant literature and to analyze the management of our patient collective.
Material And Method: Surgery was performed on 7 patients with extraabdominal desmoid fibromatosis between August 1998 and May 2007.
Background: Numerous studies have shown a positive correlation between elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) and systemic spread of malignancies. The goal of the current study was to assess the predictive significance of preoperative CRP in patients undergoing radical cystectomy (RC).
Material And Methods: Preoperative CRP values were measured in 194 patients undergoing RC because of urothelial carcinoma between 1996 and 2005.
Purpose: Trauma injuries of the posterior urethra resulting from pelvic fracture in children tend to be complete ruptures, with upper dislocation of the prostate. This paper aims to show our experience in using an anterior sagittal transanorectal approach (ASTRA) in the treatment of such injuries.
Materials And Methods: The medical records of 11 patients with pelvic fracture urethral distraction defects who had undergone anastomotic urethroplasty through ASTRA between 1997 and 2009 were reviewed.
