Background And Objectives: Previous reports of patients with myelitis associated with rheumatologic disease may have had unrecognized aquaporin-4 (AQP4)-IgG seropositive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) or myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG)-IgG-associated disease (MOGAD). We clinicoradiologically and serologically characterized patients with myelitis associated with rheumatologic disease evaluated in the era of availability of MOG-IgG and more sensitive AQP4-IgG cell-based assays.
Methods: A retrospective cohort (2018-2023) at Johns Hopkins Medicine with diagnoses of myelopathy and rheumatologic comorbidity was identified by electronic medical record (EMR) query.
Knee osteoarthritis (OA) typically presents with joint pain that is exacerbated by use and alleviated with rest. There is relatively brief, self-limited morning stiffness and absence of constitutional symptoms. Overweight and obesity are the most important modifiable risk factors.

The R47H missense mutation of the TREM2 gene is a known risk factor for development of Alzheimer's Disease. In this study, we analyze the impact of the Trem2 mutation on specific cell types in multiple cortical and subcortical brain regions in the context of wild-type and 5xFAD mouse background. We profile 19 mouse brain sections consisting of wild-type, Trem2, 5xFAD and Trem2; 5xFAD genotypes using MERFISH spatial transcriptomics, a technique that enables subcellular profiling of spatial gene expression.
