When dental implants become infected, the progression of the disease is rapid. Commercially available dental implant surfaces can be easily contaminated, resulting in rapid progression of peri-mucositis and peri-implantitis. The aim of this study was to evaluate, in vitro, the pattern of doxycycline release from by dental implants with titanium nanotube surface (DINS) at different pHs to examine novel drug loading and chemical coating techniques.

Article Synopsis
  • * Characterization techniques like droplet size measurement, X-ray diffraction, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) confirmed the effective quantification and properties of MJ within the MEs.
  • * Results indicated that higher oil/surfactant ratios reduced MJ release but established MEs as potential nanocarriers for delivering MJ to tumor cells, showcasing their utility in drug delivery systems.

Piper hispidum and Piper tuberculatum accumulate amides bearing isobutyl, pyrrolidine, dihydropyridone and piperidine moieties. The isolation and characterization of several representatives including two hitherto unreported amides were performed by chromatographic techniques and by analysis of spectroscopic data. The antifungal activity of each amide was determined by direct bioautography against Cladosporium sphaerospermum.
