Rational design of elaborate, multicomponent nanomaterials is important for the development of many technologies such as optoelectronic devices, photocatalysts, and ion batteries. Combination of metal chalcogenides with different anions, such as in CdS/CdSe structures, is particularly effective for creating heterojunctions with valence band offsets. Seeded growth, often coupled with cation exchange, is commonly used to create various core/shell, dot-in-rod, or multipod geometries.

Here, we present a protocol to convert PDX tumors into PDxOs for long-term cultures amenable to moderate-throughput drug screens, including in-depth PDxO validation. I/R injuries occur in many conditions that differentially affect males and females including complex regional pain syndrome and fibromyalgia. Our preclinical studies have indicated that primary afferent sensitization and behavioral hypersensitivity due to I/R may be due to sex specific gene expression in the DRGs and distinct upregulation of growth factors and cytokines in the affected muscles.

Methods: One hundred and forty-eight third-year medical students were evaluated by two DOFs completed by a supervising resident, fellow, attending, or another team member. One DOF was completed early (time 1) and the other late (time 2) during a 4-week psychiatry clerkship.
