Background: The thymus, responsible for T cell-mediated adaptive immune system, has a structural and functional complexity that is not yet fully understood. Until now, thymic anatomy has been studied using histological thin sections or confocal microscopy 3D reconstruction, necessarily for limited volumes.
Methods: We used Phase Contrast X-Ray Computed Tomography to address the lack of whole-organ volumetric information on the microarchitecture of its structural components.

Background And Aims: Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neurotoxicity (CIPN), with paraesthesia, numbness, dysesthesia and neuropathic pain ranks among the most common dose-limiting toxicity of several widely used anticancer drugs. Recent studies revealed the microvascular angiogenesis as a new important actor, beside peripheral neurons, in the neurotoxicity and neuropathic pain development and chronicisation. Method: A systematic review was performed in the PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Web of Science databases on 9 January 2023, according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. Success, recurrence, and complication rates were evaluated and analyzed.
Purpose: The Eiger 2X CdTe 1 M-W (Dectris ltd, Baden, Switzerland) single photon counting detector was characterized for imaging applications at the biomedical beamline ID17 of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility.
Methods: Linearity, Modulation Transfer Function, Noise Power Spectrum and Detective Quantum Efficiency were measured as a function of photon energy and flux in the range 26-80 keV.
Results: The linearity was confirmed in the flux range specified by Dectris and a detection efficiency higher than 60 % was measured for energies up to 80 keV.
