Objectives: Laryngeal squamous cell carcinomas (LSCCs) typically have an excellent prognosis for stage I tumors but a significant risk of locoregional and distant recurrence for intermediate to advanced disease. This study will investigate the clinical relevance of the tumor microenvironment in a large cohort of treatment-naïve patients affected by stage II-IV LSCC.
Methods: Whole slide-based digital pathology analysis was applied to measure six immune cell populations identified by immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining for CD3, CD8, CD20, CD66b, CD163 and CD38.
Background & Aims: Microscopic inflammation has significant prognostic value in ulcerative colitis (UC); however, its assessment is complex with high interobserver variability. We aimed to develop and validate an artificial intelligence (AI) computer-aided diagnosis system to evaluate UC biopsies and predict prognosis.
Methods: A total of 535 digitalized biopsies (273 patients) were graded according to the PICaSSO Histologic Remission Index (PHRI), Robarts, and Nancy Histological Index.
Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of salivary gland is a slowly growing tumor showing a propensity for delayed recurrence, with decreased survival rates. The identification of poor prognosis patients may help in defining molecular-based targeted strategies in this rare disease orphan of new treatments. Through a gene expression microarray-based approach followed by GSE functional analysis the expression profile of 46 primary untreated ACC samples and of ACC (h-TERT) tumor cells was analyzed.

Objectives: To evaluate the structural and inflammatory features of NCGS compared to controls and coeliac disease (CeD) with milder enteropathy (Marsh I-II). Methods: Well-oriented biopsies of 262 control cases with normal gastroscopy and histologic findings, 261 CeD, and 175 NCGS biopsies from 9 contributing countries were examined.

Background: The classification of sinonasal carcinomas (SNCs) is a conundrum. Consequently, prognosis and prediction of response to non-surgical treatment are often unreliable. The availability of prognostic and predictive measures is an unmet need, and the first logical source of information to be investigated is represented by the clinicopathological features of the disease.
