[Pars plana phacoemulsification. Technics, indications and results].

Pars plana phacoemulsification allows cataract extraction through a 3 mm posterior sclerotomy. The indications of these technics are the combined cataract-vitrectomy, the cataracts on vitrectomised eyes and cataracts on eyes filled with silicone oil. The alteration of corneal endothelium is very reduced with the endocapsular pars plana phacoemulsification.
