Diffuse lymphoplasmacytic acalculous cholecystitis: a distinctive form of chronic cholecystitis associated with primary sclerosing cholangitis.

Inflammation of the gallbladder is known to occur in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). However, the histological features of this form of cholecystitis have not been adequately defined. The aim of this study was to compare the inflammatory lesions of PSC-associated cholecystitis with those present in other cholecystopathies.

[Chronic Chagas cardiomyopathy detected in patients at the Regional General Hospital O'Horan, Merida, Yucatan, Mexico].

The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency of cardiopathy due to Chagas' disease in 36 patients of the cardiology department at the Regional General Hospital O'Horan in Merida, Yucatan. All patients included in the study had cardiac involvement compatible with acute or chronic stages of Chagas' disease. Medical records prepared for each one of the patients included a Chagas' disease targeted clinical history, chest X-ray, electrocardiogram, blood culture and serology using indirect immunofluorescence test.

Mesenchymal hamartoma of the chest wall in infants and children: a clinicopathological study of five patients.

Mesenchymal hamartoma of chest-wall is a rare benign lesion that has varied histological characteristics and usually occurs during early infancy. We report the histological characteristics of mesenchymal hamartoma found in five patients aged respectively 25 days, 5 months, 8 months, and 4 and 8 years at presentation. Two patients presented with respiratory distress, two with an asymptomatic chest-wall mass, and one with a deformity of the left chest wall.
