Aim: Treatment of early rectal cancer (ERC) is undergoing a revolution towards rectum preservation. Adjuvant and neoadjuvant therapy alongside local excision (LE) means that organ preservation is a real possibility for most patients and a viable alternative for frailer patients. This study presents our 12-year experience as a specialist regional ERC unit, evolving towards organ preservation.

Carney Complex (CNC) is a rare syndrome characterised by skin pigmentation, endocrine over activity and myxomas, with the median age of detection being 20 years. We present a case of CNC diagnosed in infancy after being noted to have multiple lentigines over his face, abdomen, back and thighs at birth. We consider the differential diagnoses of similar cutaneous presentations in the well neonate and review the prognosis and suggested surveillance of patients with CNC.

Objective: To describe current United Kingdom practice in assessment and management of patients with juvenile localised scleroderma (JLS) compared to Paediatric Rheumatology European Society (PRES) scleroderma working party recommendations.

Methods: Patients were included if they were diagnosed with JLS and were under the care of paediatric rheumatology between 04/2015-04/2016. Retrospective data was collected in eleven UK centres using a standardised proforma and collated centrally.
