Streptococcus pneumoniae is the most common cause of community-acquired pneumonia and is responsible for multiple other infectious diseases, such as meningitis and otitis media, in children. Resistance to penicillins, macrolides, and fluoroquinolones is increasing and, since the introduction of pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs), vaccine serotypes have been replaced by non-vaccine serotypes. Antisense peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) have been shown to reduce the growth of several pathogenic bacteria in various infection models.

Road transport is one among the sources of air pollution in a city, which results in lowering the comfort of life and increases the occurrence of respiratory diseases. The level of pollutants emitted in the city is variable, and it depends on the type and nature of the source and the manner of land development. For this reason, the purpose of the article is an attempt at a spatial (inner) diversification of a city in terms of air quality, using a study of perception and semantic differentials (SD).

Study Design: A single center retrospective analysis of feeding outcomes in preterm infants. Data were assigned as: (1) pre DHM era (2) Bridge DHM era (3) Full DHM era.
Mothers of infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) face stressors including turbulent emotions from their pregnancy/unexpected preterm delivery and their infant's unpredictable health status. The study purpose was to examine the psychological state of mothers prior to the discharge of their technology-dependent infants (eg, feeding tubes, supplemental oxygen) from the NICU to home. The study sample consisted of mothers (N = 19) of infants dependent on medical technology being discharged from a large Midwest NICU.
