A sense of home for people with dementia in a long-term care facility: A design perspective.

The study aims to provide new insights into the approach to the spatial design of homelike dementia care facilities. This paper builds on Molony's (2010) findings that home meaning in care facilities is a process of people-place integration, and then proposes that people living with dementia can accomplish this process through their bodily habit. This research adopted an ethnographic case study approach.

Efficacy of carboxymethyl beta-glucan in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia: a retrospective, case-control study.

Background: Persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection constitutes the principal risk factor for the development of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and cervical cancer. For this reason, new drugs have been studied to support the host immune system against the HPV infection. The aim of this retrospective, case-control study was to detect the efficacy and safety of carboxymethyl β-glucan (Colpofix®) gel as adjuvant therapy in HPV infection.

Virtual Reality in Assessing the Supportive Environment that Promotes Navigability of Persons with Alzheimer's disease.

Spatial cognition and representation in persons with Alzheimer's disease (AD) is usually impaired, alongside with cognitive impairment. It is important to provide the supportive environments that support their ability of wayfinding to maintain the daily activities and autonomy. The aim of this paper is to emphasize how Virtual Reality (VR) system is used to assess the improved environmental design that promotes spatial navigability in persons with AD.

Conceptual Design of Haptic-Feedback Navigation Device for Individuals with Alzheimer's Disease.

Wayfinding ability in older adults with Alzheimer's disease (AD) is progressively impaired due to ageing and deterioration of cognitive domains. Usually, the sense of direction is deteriorated as visuospatial and spatial cognition are associated with the sensory acuity. Therefore, navigation systems that support only visual interactions may not be appropriate in case of AD.

Adjuvant topical treatment with imiquimod 5% after excisional surgery for VIN 2/3.

Objective: Vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) is a premalignant lesion of the vulva. The incidence of VIN is increasing. The surgery is currently the gold standard therapy for VIN, but Imiquimod could be a completion to surgery.
