A Case Series of Adult Measles from a Tertiary Care Hospital in North India.

Measles or rubeola is caused by an enveloped single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the genus Morbillivirus in the Paramyxoviridae family. Here, we present five adult measles patients. The laboratory confirmation of measles by serology/polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was carried out in the National Measles Laboratory as per WHO standard operating procedure at the Department of Virology, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India.

Mixing Metals During Operative Fixation and Reconstruction in the Appendicular Skeleton: Does Theoretical In Vivo Galvanization Cause Clinically Detrimental Outcomes?

Objective: Traditional training and teaching have advised against mixing varying metal types to avoid the potential for in vivo galvanization and corrosion. The objective of this study was to retrospectively analyze patients who have undergone operative reconstruction with mixed metal (MM) constructs to report any related complications.

Methods: Design: Retrospective case series.

Malignant Degeneration of a Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor in the Neck Region.

Malignant transformation of neurofibromas into malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNST) is a rare but aggressive phenomenon, particularly in the head and neck region, and is associated with a poor prognosis. The primary treatment modality is surgical excision, often followed by radiotherapy. This is a case report of MPNST in the neck, with long-term follow-up.

NELL-1 Associated Membranous Nephropathy - A Case Series from India.

Neural epidermal growth factor-like 1 (NELL-1) is responsible for a substantial proportion of cases of PLA2R-negative primary membranous nephropathy (MN). To investigate the occurrence, association, and treatment responses, we carried out this ambispective study. In the study, nine (10%) of all patients with MN at our center were found to be NELL-1 positive.
