Reading Disability in Children: Exploring the N400 and its Associations with Set-For-Variability.

The N400 event-related potential (ERP), a marker of lexical-semantic processing, can assess the neural basis of reading difficulties. This study examines 1) semantic processes in typically developing (TD) children and children with reading disabilities (RD) using N400 and Set-for-Variability (SfV) profiles and 2) correlations between N400 and SfV. Fifty-one children read congruent and incongruent sentences during EEG.

The N400 in readers with dyslexia: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess whether (i) significant differences exist in the N400 response to lexico-semantic tasks between typically developing (TD) readers and readers with dyslexia, and (ii) whether these differences are moderated by the modality of task presentation (visual vs. auditory), the type of task, age, or opaque orthography (shallow and transparent alphabets vs Chinese morpho-syllabary). Twenty studies were included in the meta-analysis, and the analysis did not demonstrate strong evidence of publication bias.

Synthesis of findings from the literature and a qualitative research study on the impacts of gender, disability, and ethnicity in Neglected Tropical Diseases programs.

Introduction: Act to End NTDs | West, a USAID-funded program that supports national governments to eliminate or control five neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in West Africa including trachoma, lymphatic filariasis (LF), onchocerciasis, schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminthiasis, conducted a gender and social inclusion analysis to determine how NTDs differentially impact various populations and how gender and social norms impact NTD programs to inform future programming.

Methods: The study used a mixed methods approach including a literature review; primary qualitative data collection; and monitoring data in Côte d'Ivoire, Sierra Leone, and Ghana.

Results: Women and girls face additional health risks from many NTDs compared to men and boys.

Introduction: Poor CD34 + cells mobilization in allogeneic donors could affect transplant outcome. In a subgroup of patient mobilization with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) alone is unsatisfactory, and Plerixafor could be used to enhance CD34 + cells release from bone marrow niche.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective single-center, cohort study on healthy allogeneic donors both related and unrelated, treated by Udine Transfusion Center over the last 10 years (2012-2022).

How Inclusive Practice Increases the Educational Relevance of Individualized Education Programs.

Purpose: Individuals with Disabilities Education Act guidelines for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) require that students with disabilities should, to the fullest extent appropriate, receive services that promote academic achievement that are delivered within the general educational environment. In this clinical focus article, we will demonstrate how the inclusive practice service delivery model can assist speech-language pathologists (SLPs) with the development of educationally relevant IEPs.

Method: Twelve SLPs who saw at least 30% of their students in a general education context shared their perspectives on inclusive practice.
