Adherence to Guidelines for Diagnosis, Staging, and Treatment for Gastric Cancer in Italy According to the View of Surgeons and Patients.

: Despite the strong declining trends in incidence and mortality over the last decades, gastric cancer (GC) is still burdened with high mortality, even in high-income countries. To improve GC prognosis, several guidelines have been increasingly published with indications about the most appropriate GC management. The Italian Society of Digestive System Pathology (SIPAD) and Gastric Cancer Italian Research Group (GIRCG) designed a survey for both surgeons and patients with the purpose of evaluating the degree of application and adherence to guidelines in GC management in Italy.

In search of an appropriate channel for voicing political concerns: political participation among radicalised youth in Europe.

This research aims to identify values related to political and civic participation methods among the two groups of radicalised youngsters: native youth who support movements labelled as far-right ( 122) and migrant-origin self-identified Muslim youth with strong organisational ties with religious communities (109) in Germany, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. The study posits that these these radically aligned youngsters position themselves against politically moderate European citizens, who are less intuitive when making judgements on political affairs comparing to them. Diverging from the unifying European values and hypersensitivities, these youngsters' political reactions are often radical and loud in their safe-to-speak, segregated movements.

The Necessity to Recognize Processes of Radicalization from a Socio-cultural Perspective.

The current paper investigates Psychoanalytic, Cognitive, Behaviorist, and Socio-cultural theories and critiques how they have (or might have) contributed to the study of radicalization. The paper asserts two arguments that lack emphasis in the current radicalization research: 1) radicalization refers to a process, and does not always refer to violent behavior; 2) radicalization research needs to pay tribute to socio-cultural, political, and historical context while designing research and discussing findings. These two points are essential to extend the concept of radicalization and to be sensitive to different research contexts and populations.

Laparoscopic distal gastrectomy in old-old patients: the first Western experience.

Background: This is the first Western study presenting short-term results on patients older than 80 years affected by gastric cancer and treated with laparoscopic distal gastrectomy.

Methods: A multicentre prospective database on patients suffering from distal gastric cancer with age of ≥ 80 undergone to distal gastrectomy was analysed retrospectively. End points were length of hospital stay (LoS) after surgery, and times to stool passage and solid diet initiation, as well as postoperative complications.
